1. Agreement to Terms

By using our website or services (“Services”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you have any questions about them, we’re happy to clarify before you proceed.

2. Our Services

CarBreaker.co.nz (“we”, “us”) purchases vehicles in any condition — running, damaged, deregistered, written-off, or end-of-life. We also offer free towing and removal, depending on the location and type of vehicle. Our goal is to provide a quick, stress-free, and transparent process from start to finish.

3. Your Role as the Seller

• Ownership: You confirm that you are the legal owner of the vehicle and can legally sell it.

• Deregistration & RUC: We return the plates for cancellation(unless bought with plates), you’ll need to deregister the vehicle with NZTA by filling out a MR15 form which can be done here –  https://nzta.govt.nz/vehicles/vehicle-registration/cancelling-your-registration/ and settle any outstanding Road User Charges (RUC).

• Selling With Plates: If the vehicle is sold with licence plates and we transfer the ownership to our company, we’ll handle those steps from there. In some cases, we may choose to resell the vehicle.

4. Payment

Payment is made at the time of pickup via cash or bank transfer, as agreed in advance. All payments are made in New Zealand dollars (NZD).

5. Use of Our Website

You agree to use our website only for its intended purpose — to request quotes, arrange vehicle collection, or learn about our services. Activities such as unauthorised data collection, spamming, or fraudulent use are not permitted.

6. Limiting Our Liability

We take care to provide a smooth experience, but we can’t be responsible for losses outside our control. By using our services, you agree we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and you won’t hold us responsible for matters arising from incorrect information provided.

7. Content & Copyright

All content on our website — including text, images, logos, and design — is the property of CarBreaker.co.nz. You may share our content for personal use, but it must not be copied, altered, or used for commercial purposes without our written consent.

8. Privacy & Personal Information

We collect and store your personal information to provide our services and process payments. We handle all personal data in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ). You can view our full Privacy Policy on our website.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes take effect from the date they are posted on our website, and the most recent version will always apply.

10. New Zealand Law

These Terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any disputes will be handled by New Zealand courts.
